Full job description
The Resident Monitor (RM) works under the immediate supervision of the Facility Director, or his/her designee.
Parameters of the Position
- To ensure the safety, security, cleanliness and record keeping of Reynolds & Associates, Inc. facilities, per federal and/or contract sources;
- To supervise Reynolds & Associates, Inc. retuning citizens/clients; and
- To perform required and necessary services related to medication, food, clothing, facility inspection and maintenance, accountability and record keeping for Reynolds & Associates, Inc. retuning citizens/clients.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage individual and group returning citizens/clients' activities pursuant to the requirements of Statement of Work (SOW), Personnel Manual, Operations Manual, Resident Handbook and other governing documents;
- Prepare accurate and timely escape, apprehension, incident, disciplinary action, and other reports;
- Perform safety & sanitation inspections of the facility and bring any concerns to the attention of the Facility Director and supervise safety & sanitation details;
- Keep an inventory of resident property;
- Observe individual and group of retuning citizens/clients and report crisis situations or prohibited acts, and take appropriate action;
- Monitor status of essential supplies and provide supplies, as needed, to retuning citizens;
- Participate in staff training and development programs;
- Keep a master log on residential activities and retuning citizens/clients movement;
- Conduct house searches, pat searches, breathalyzer tests, fire/evacuation drills, first aid and medical inventory inspections;
- Assist in organizing and supervising retuning citizens/clients classes, church services, meals, recreation, meetings and other in-house programs;
- Must be available to work assigned shifts, at the Reynolds & Associates, Inc. facility, in ether a full-time or part-time capacity and may be requested to provide coverage on short notice or to be on call, for coverage during pre-defined periods;
- Be required to report to the assigned shift on time and to remain on duty until relieved for the safety and welfare of retuning citizens/clients;
- Be certified in CPR/First Aid, within thirty (30) days, if required;
- Be able to walk up stairs frequently in order to inspect the facility and monitor returning citizens/clients behavior;
- Be physically capable of assisting in life safety situations such as fiving CPR and leading fire emergency procedures;
- Perform other duties as assigned;
Education and Qualifications
- The candidate must possess a minimum of a high school diploma, with a preference for (1) one year of mental health, correctional or related experience.
- The ability to write clearly and legibly in longhand is required, because the duties of this position will require handwritten reports.
- Must also be proficient in computer skills, in order to electronically type, document and create basic reports, etc.
- Must have a valid driver's license, and a good driving record and a reliable vehicle.
Requirements:
- Flexible availability for day, evening, and weekend shifts as needed
- Ability to obtain CPR/First Aid certification
- Physical capability to assist in life safety situations like CPR and fire emergencies
Miscellaneous:
Employees must meet all requirements set by relevant government agencies.
Candidates will undergo an NCIC criminal record background check.
