Rehabilitation Support Services, Inc. (RSS), a not-for-profit mental health agency is hiring a Vocational/Educational Specialist to work in our Monticello, NY office. Qualifications and Skills:

Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma and one year experience in human services or an Associate Degree in a related field

Must be computer literate

Active/Valid driver's license

Successful completion of the Justice Center and New York State Office of Children and Families Statewide Central Register Database clearance.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

1. Responsible for the overall coordination and rehabilitation for an assigned caseload including developing vocational/educational rehabilitation plans; completing rehabilitation assessments and all associated paperwork in a timely manner, when applicable.

2. Complies with HIPAA requirements to ensure confidentiality and the protection of all client civil liberties, rights, and property.

3. Provides job coaching and educational coaching services to participants, including situational assessments, one to one support/training, job development and role modeling. Meetings with participants are to occur at least twice a month.50%or your time is spent in the community providing employment services .

4. Provides vocational/educational counseling services both individually on and off work sites and in groups as needed.

5. Consults with other staff; vocational, educational, treatment, residential, and social both within the agency and outside the agency, as needed in order to share information and coordinate services.

6. Attends case reviews, treatment reviews, and medication reviews, as required.

7. Develops and maintains active community relationships with ACCES-VR, Educational Facilities, Businesses, Social Security Administration, Family and Consumer Organizations and other as applicable.

8. Performs job development in the community through outreach efforts, marketing strategies, interview coordination, and compliance with business expectations and policies.

9. When applicable, works cooperatively with affirmative business staff to ensure coordination of vocational rehabilitation goals and improve opportunities for participant success within the work environment.

10. Participates in the intake and orientation process for participants.

11. Provides transportation to and from vocational/educational related appointments and job interviews as needed.

12. Complies with all workplace policies & procedures.

13. Attend/participate in any/all required trainings related to the responsibilities of the position.

14. Perform duties assigned by the immediate supervisor or other management staff, as required.
