Position Summary:
Reicker Pfau is looking for an experienced Litigation Legal Assistant to contribute to our dynamic litigation practice, which encompasses commercial and business disputes, employment litigation, trusts and estates, real estate, and land use matters. The ideal candidate will bring at least 5 years of litigation legal assistant experience, a strong work ethic, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive administrative and legal support, including drafting and preparing litigation documents such as correspondence, pleadings, discovery demands/responses, motions, subpoenas, and settlement documents.
- Assist with electronic filing in State and Federal Courts while maintaining client confidentiality and secure document handling.
- Communicate effectively with courts, clients, experts, opposing counsel, and co-counsel, ensuring attorneys are updated on case status and timely tracking of deadlines.
- Manage attorney calendars by proactively handling scheduling, appearances, depositions, and coordinating with court reporters and interpreters as needed.
- Support multiple attorneys in litigation legal support teams in the preparation of client legal documents.
- Open and close files, ensuring organized and accessible documentation; scan, save, and file documents in the firm’s document management system.
- Perform data entry, process check requests, manage large mailings, and assist with document formatting, proofreading, and editing for clarity and accuracy.
- Record and securely store client information while assisting with attorney marketing tasks and providing support for overflow work as needed.
- Collaborate on team projects, follow office workflow procedures for maximum efficiency, and perform general administrative and clerical duties as required.
Qualifications:
- 5-8 years of experience as a legal assistant, preferably in civil and business litigation.
- Strong reading comprehension, legal writing, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent decision-making, critical thinking, and active listening abilities.
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while effectively managing multiple priorities.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive compensation ranging from $72,000 – $100,000 depending on experience.
