What are the responsibilities and job description for the Interior Design Associate position at Related?
The Interior Design Associate will have the unique opportunity to work with top-tier international designers and architects, contributing to the creation of some of the most luxurious and thoughtfully designed projects in South Florida. Key Responsibilities:
- Attend Design Meetings: Represent the interiors department in regular design and development meetings, both internally and externally, to communicate project progress, challenges, and updates.
- Support Design Process: Work closely with third-party designers, providing guidance and direction on design concepts, research, and material selection for model apartments and other interior projects.
- Manage Small Interior Projects: Oversee and manage smaller-scale interior projects by developing concepts, selecting furniture, fabrics, and finishes, and coordinating construction and installation processes.
- Research & Inspiration: Conduct research to gather inspirational images, materials, finishes, furniture, fabrics, and accessories to support design development and project concepts.
- Project Management: Track and manage timelines, ensuring that all interiors development projects adhere to established deadlines and budget constraints. Regularly meet with internal teams and third-party designers to ensure timely progress and resolve issues.
- FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures, & Equipment): Research and specify furniture, fabrics, finishes, and accessories needed for the development of concepts or interior projects.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in an interior design or architectural office.
- Strong design sense with a flexible and diverse aesthetic taste.
- In-depth knowledge of interior design, architecture, and decoration.
- Understanding of building processes, architectural principles, and the overall design process.
- Self-starter with a proactive approach and a curiosity-driven mindset.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to drive results and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written, verbal, and communication skills.
- Interpersonal skills that foster effective collaboration with both internal teams and external partners.
- Ability to work well in a team environment and adapt communication style to different audiences.
- Diplomatic and solution-oriented approach to problem-solving.
- Undergraduate degree required; graduate degree is a plus.
