Prioritized Must Have Skills For The Traffic Engineer

Requirements Of The Traffic Engineer
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (with emphasis in Transportation or Traffic preferred)
- Ideally 4 years' in field (experience level is flexible).
- Traffic Study Experience (traffic impact studies, no-passing zone studies, speed studies, traffic calming studies, Etc.)
- Understanding of FDOT's Manual on Uniform Traffic Studies (MUTS)
- Ability to create and develop plans for signage, pavement marketings, and traffic signals.
- Experience with FDOT Design Standards, Plans Preparation Manuals and Specifications
- Experience with Traffic Engineering Software (HCS, Synchro, Tru-Traffic, GuidSIGN)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills a plus
- Experience with Microstation, including Geopak applications and knowledge in producing contract drawings
- Proficiency in MS Office software
- Enthusiasm to work in a team environment
- Professional Engineer certification is preferred, but a Fundamentals of Engineers (FE) certification or progress towards obtaining it is required.
- Onsite role, with possibility to turn into a hybrid roll after 4-5 months.
