Training Specialist

Description

This position, located in Colorado Springs, CO, serves as part of a 5-member training team that delivers the whole lifecycle of training—analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation—to specialized operational staff in the Transportation Security Administration’s Vetting Analysis Division.

Responsibilities: 

• Facilitate training, both instructor-led and virtual 
• Design and develop training for various delivery environments 
• Develop training project proposals 
• Review team training products 
• Attend standing and ad-hoc meetings 
• Experience with developing and delivering presentations
• Excellent public speaking skills
• Highly proficient with PowerPoint
• Basic knowledge of WebEx, Skype, and MS Teams
• Basic familiarity with distance learning techniques and experience delivering presentations in a virtual environment
• Self-starter, able to work independently with strong time management skills
• Willing to become an expert in multiple operational roles, specialized processes and custom IT products; and teach these roles and processes to operational workforce
• Strong writing and editing skills, and strong attention to detail
• Experience with rapid turn-around times for training development
• Able to work well under stress
• Ability to work independently while contributing to and valuing team structure

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Basic understanding of different learning styles associated with adult education
• Experience creating basic graphics, such as charts or infographics 
• Familiar with basic training lifecycle (ADDIE model or similar)
• Experienced with creating self-paced e-learning modules
• Certification in any major training program (e.g., CPTD, ISD) preferred
• Knowledge working with MS Office products, Storyline 360 by Articulate
• Must be able to obtain and hold a DHS Public Trust Clearance
• Must be willing to go onsite to TSA HQ at Colorado Springs 1-2 days per week (Parking is Provided)
• Willing and able to occasionally work outside normal business hours 6 a.m. – 3 p.m.  MST
• Bachelor’s in business, education or similar is required

The annual salary range for this position is $80,000 to $100,000. Actual compensation will depend on a range of factors, including but not limited to the individual’s skills, experience, qualifications, certifications, location, other business and organizational needs, and applicable employment laws. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of the total compensation package for employees.
