Purpose of Position:
The primary function of the Cyber Security Governance Intern is to be a security ambassador to the organization, such as by promoting security awareness content throughout ReliabilityFirst (RF). The Cyber Security Governance Intern will demonstrate a strong interest in cyber security protocols and data loss prevention. There is flexibility in this role to cater to a strong candidate’s interests in security governance. The Cyber Security Governance Intern will report to Marcus Noel and will frequently interact with the Security team, IT, and then interact occasionally with the whole company in promoting security awareness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Shadow the Security Team Members and assist in general security procedures/risk mitigations and collaborate with members of IT as needed
- Implement understanding of general security principles to support the Security Team in day-to-day meetings, emails, and communications with other business units
- Generate written documentation of procedures, action reports, security alerts, and written end user communication
- Draft email communications to company about security protocols or to raise security awareness
- Develop training simulations in the form of activities such as tabletops, phishing tests, and presentations for all of ReliabilityFirst under the guidance of the Security Team
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree (Cybersecurity, Information Technology, etc.) with a strong interest in cyber security governance, resulting in demonstrated ability to perform the major duties required
- Fundamental security knowledge across several different security disciplines
- Ability to work independently and deliver products in a timely manner
- Detail-oriented and eagerness to take initiative and learn in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office 360, such as Word, Teams, PowerPoint, and Excel
Desirable:
- Public Speaking and excellent communication skills
- Good time management skills
- Experience with tabletop exercises, disaster preparedness exercises, etc.
- Experience planning and executing phishing simulation campaigns
- Experience drafting procedure documents and developing security awareness marketing materials
