Reliable Fire & Security is growing and is looking to hire multiple apprentices to join and grow our team. This position is responsible for assisting senior fire alarm technicians in the installation, inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire alarm systems. Apprentices will gain a clear understanding of fire alarm systems and will receive training to prepare for certifications such as NICET in Fire Alarm Systems.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist in the installation, inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire alarm systems.
- Perform inspections to ensure fire alarms are installed and functioning according to code.
- Complete detailed inspection reports, documenting any issues.
- Report results of work completed in an accurate and timely manner.
- Protect and maintain company tools and equipment.
- Work safely following company safety procedures, including driver safety and personal protective equipment requirements.
- Interact with customers in a mature and professional manner.
- Respond to emergency service calls as required.
- Maintain a clean and safe workspace.
- Self-study applicable NFPA codes and standards to enhance knowledge.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Education/Qualifications:
- Basic troubleshooting skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Reliable transportation to and from the office and job sites.
- Flexible with scheduling, including occasional work past 5 PM or on weekends as needed.
- Ability to recognize and report deviations through inspection programs.
- Ability to interpret, apply, and explain applicable laws, codes, and regulations.
- Capable of maintaining accurate records and reports.
- Able to understand and follow oral and written directions.
- Comfortable using or repairing small tools (e.g., power tools, ladders) and medium equipment/machinery.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, reach with arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Occasionally required to lift and move heavy objects.
