Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Permit Coordinator to manage and streamline the permit application and approval process for our residential and commercial projects. This role is essential to ensuring compliance with local and state regulations, maintaining timelines, and supporting our field teams with all necessary documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
✅ Prepare and submit permit applications for residential and commercial projects in compliance with municipal, county, and state regulations.
✅ Track and manage all permit approvals, inspections, and renewals to prevent project delays.
✅ Act as the primary liaison between the company and local permitting agencies, ensuring clear and timely communication.
✅ Maintain accurate records of permits, inspections, and related documents in our project management system.
✅ Work closely with project managers, field teams, and homeowners to provide updates and resolve permitting issues.
✅ Research zoning laws, building codes, and regulatory requirements to ensure full compliance.
✅ Schedule and coordinate inspections with relevant authorities.
✅ Stay updated on changes in permitting laws and guidelines to proactively address compliance matters.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience in permit coordination, construction administration, or a similar role (home service or contracting industry experience preferred).
- Strong understanding of local and state building codes, zoning laws, and permitting regulations.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills for coordinating with permitting agencies, contractors, and internal teams.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple permit applications simultaneously.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, project management software, and permitting databases.
- Prior experience in electrical, HVAC, plumbing, or general contracting industries is a plus.
