Position Summary:
The Accountant will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and accounting standards. This role will work closely with other departments to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledgers, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Conduct regular reconciliations of bank statements, vendor invoices, and other financial documents.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing relevant financial analysis and recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations; prepare and file tax returns as necessary.
- Assist with the audit process, providing documentation and responding to inquiries from internal and external auditors.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes and reporting efficiency.
- Maintain and update accounting policies and procedures as needed.
- Stay current with industry regulations and best practices in accounting and financial management.
**Qualifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (preferred)
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in the PEO industry.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
