What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Finance position at Reliable Robotics?

As the Director of Finance, you will be a key member of our team, reporting directly to the CFO. Your leadership will ensure financial health, operational efficiency, and a vibrant workplace culture as we scale. You'll oversee and drive strategic planning, financial reconciliation to plan, forecasting and support all fund raising and capital market activities.
Given that we’re a startup, you will be working in a fast-moving, dynamic environment that requires adaptability. That said, here are some responsibilities and qualifications we expect to stay relatively constant for this role.
\n- Working closely with the CEO and other executives to determine the company’s priorities and overall strategy. Spearhead financial strategy and long-range planning
- Responsible for financial budgeting, forecasting and working capital management
- Report financial status by developing forecasts, reporting results, analyzing variances, board material preparation
- Developing improvements so as to mitigate financial and operational risks
- Identifying and mitigating financial and operational risks
- Develop financial strategies by forecasting capital, facilities, and staff requirements; identifying monetary sources; and developing action plans
- Provide strategic leadership and insight on future financing plans, helping evaluate creative potential strategies, and providing financial insight for strategic planning
- Developing and maintaining relationships with investors, banking relationships, leasing arrangements as well as debt, and growth capital markets
- Develop and manage relationships with consultancy firms in support of business or financial operations including, accounting, tax and audit
- Serving as a primary point of contact for critical stakeholders regarding financial and operational matters
- Supporting and leading corporate development initiatives including critical commercial arrangements, strategic partnerships and potential M&A
- Adept at attracting, maintaining, and leading high-performing teams
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- 10 years of experience in finance, with a proven track record in leadership roles
- Strong leadership and management skills, capable of motivating and growing teams
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication that’s direct, clear, and concise
- Willingness to directly contribute to all areas of ownership, including documentation, financial modeling, and more
- Enthusiasm for operating in a lean, fast-paced environment
- Experience with manufacturing and growth-stage startup environments
- Proven track record of raising capital and managing investor relations
- Passion for autonomy or aviation industry
- MBA, CPA or Master’s in Finance
- Comfortable pushing a fast but sustainable pace
Reliable is a growing startup with immediate needs for financial and accounting coordination and forecasting. In this role, you'll be critical to developing those solutions, laying the groundwork for future expansion of the financial team. You'll engage directly across the company without boundaries and have visibility straight up to the CEO.
This role is on-site in Mountain View, CA.
Must be willing to travel up to 10% of the time.
The estimated salary range for this position is $190,000 to $295,000/annual salary cash and stock option awards benefits.
