1st Shift Ceramic Technician

Job Description :

• Complete all laboratory work requests as assigned.
• Conduct practical evaluation tests, including casting, ramming, mechanical and physical properties, thermal, and vibration tests.
• Maintain an orderly file containing all pertinent information regarding work performed.
• Follow, review, and revise Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions as required.
• Ensure a safe working environment by following all health and safety rules, laws, and regulations.
• Maintain the laboratory in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
• Perform scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance tasks in the laboratory; seek assistance for tasks that cannot be performed safely.
• Recognize non-routine tasks, conditions, and situations, and address them by reviewing hazards and exploring solutions with the research and development team.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance lab consistency, efficiency, and safety.
• Develop an understanding of raw materials, refractory manufacturing, application techniques, test methods, products, and competitors.
• Write reports on work performed and observations made as requested.
• Prepare and manufacture small quantities of finished product as directed.
• Evaluate raw material samples received and maintain a reference file for laboratory raw materials.
• Maintain proper stock levels of necessary materials, perform screen analyses, and keep records of stock levels and analyses.
• Complete work related to competitive sample evaluations.
• Assist in Quality Assurance (QA) procedures and tests, including examining suspect raw materials or finished products.
• Run errands to pick up or deliver materials, samples, etc., as needed.
