Intermodal Dispatcher - 2nd Shift

Manage daily operations, including scheduling loads, coordinating customer orders, and maintaining communication with customers, carriers, and brokers.

Duties/Responsibilities

· Assist with inbound telephone calls and respond to e-mails quickly, professionally and efficiently

· Assign shipments and deliveries to drivers

· Create a plan for each driver daily, adjusting as necessary

· Dispatch drivers and obtain confirmation of acceptance of loads, monitor movement and pace of drivers

· Ensure owner operators are completing work assigned

· Assist drivers with day-to-day issues such as truck issues, chassis issues, rail billing, empty returns, etc.

· Communicate any delays with deliveries or other issues affecting the deliveries

· Covering and assigning next day work for each driver

· Communicate with shipping depots or centers to ensure that deliveries are made on time

Requirements

· Prior intermodal or dispatching experience is required

· International/Import experience is a plus

· Ability to multi-task throughout the day

· React quickly and accordingly to day-to-day operational challenges

· Must work well in a Team

· Strong team player that thrives in a fast-paced environment

· Must be organized and be able to pay extreme attention to detail

· Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all drivers

· Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook-Email)

· Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation

Pre-employment drug screen and background check required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
