ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The Material Coordinator reviews production schedules and confers with department supervisors to determine material required or overdue and to locate material, requisitions material and establishes delivery sequences to departments according to job order priorities and anticipated availability of material; arranges for in-plant transfer of materials to meet production schedules, and with department supervisors for repair and assembly of material and its transportation to various departments, and examines material delivered to production departments to verify if type specified. Other functions may include responsibility for tracking all contract property, HAZMAT, processing site inventory, and completion of government directives. This position is distinguished from a supply technician in that the material coordinator’s primary duty is to locate, requisition, expedite, track and dispense stock or inventory, and coordinate movement, rather than to manage, store, catalog, and keep utilization reports on specialized commodities, stock or inventory. Material Coordinator requires extensive knowledge of warehouse procedures, working knowledge of HAZMAT and/or shipping and receiving. This position reports to Logistics Supervisor or Section Manager

GENERAL DUTIES: Coordinate and expedite flow of material and parts, in accordance with mission/directive requirements for warehouses, Hazmat and other sections of Logistics. Required to pick up, inspect, deliver, inventory and update records for hazardous material/hazardous waste when necessary. Will work under limited supervision.

OTHER DUTIES: Position performs other functions as needed such as general housekeeping of assigned work area, work-center safety monitor, security, facility management, vehicle upkeep, etc. May be required to pick up, inspect, deliver, inventory and update records. Operation of government owned vehicles is required, must have and must maintain a current, valid State driver’s license and qualify for a government driver’s license. Courier duties, to include pick-up and delivery of TMDE.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to read, write and communicate clearly and must have a minimum of five years’ experience in supply and procurement activities. Must be experienced in tracking outstanding purchase requisitions, receiving, checking and routing materials. Must have experience with computer databases.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: his position requires a Secret security clearance. Supports E-OMS operational objectives. Observes company Quality, Safety, Environmental, Security and Administrative policies; supports Process Improvement.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Will be required to work both inside and outside under a wide range of temperature and humidity and must be capable of operating various kinds of mechanized material handling equipment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position requires bending, stooping, standing, and climbing. Normal duties require extensive lifting of items weighing up to 50 pounds and transporting heavy items using a hand-truck or forklift.
