Position Summary
The Buyer position is a key role within our Supply Chain group. Excellent communication and organizational skills, ability to balance short term priorities and exceptional information analysis skills are a necessity. Key objectives will be implementing purchasing procedures and operations to accomplish quality standards and volume requirements for purchased products and components at or below the budgeted cost while managing inventory levels and achieving targeted customer service levels.
Principal Responsibilities
- Plan and execute procurement of finished goods and raw materials from domestic and international suppliers and subcontractors in accordance with MRP/ Demand requirements
- Build and maintain strong working relationship and communication with vendors to ensure high quality, on time deliveries
- Monitor and actively manage open purchase orders to optimize inventory levels in a fast-paced business environment
- Track international shipments and maintain shipping tracking information in SAP
- Proactively report material availability issues to key stakeholders within RWC
- Revise essential system planning data and product costing to ensure the system is planning effectively and accurately future requirements
- Coordinate with Quality to review and improve supplier performance for quality and delivery on regular cadence
- Support Strategic Sourcing Team in RFQs and cost saving initiatives
- Participate and contribute in the monthly Sales & Operations Planning process
- Complete special projects and assignments as requested
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Operations or Supply Chain preferred or minimum 3 years relevant experience in a manufacturing environment
- APICS CPIM/CSCP, CPSM certification completed or in progress, preferred
- Self-starter with ability to work independently under pressure and react quickly to changing priorities
- Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills
- Effective negotiation and communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills (oral & written)
- SAP experience preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel

Working Conditions
This position will be in an office environment in the Cullman location with minimal travel
