Location: Macedon, NY. The position will allow for some remote work flexibility; however, an in-person presence is expected.
Schedule: Monday - Friday. Must be flexible to meet current and future business needs.
General Summary:
Reliant Credit union, ranked one of Rochester's top mid-sized workplaces six years in a row, seeks a Business Lending Underwriter to join our team.
The Business Lending Underwriter is responsible for analyzing and underwriting business loan requests through detailed financial statement analysis, industry assessment, collateral valuation, cash flow analysis and the ability to repay annual debt service.
As a Business Lending Underwriter at Reliant, you will:
- Analyze and underwrite business loan requests to ensure they are in compliance with credit union guidelines, policies, and procedures.
- Review all pertinent credit and financial information, including but not limited to financial statements, tax returns, credit bureaus, appraisals, internal credit information, and industry research.
- Complete a written analysis to include a credit quality assessment with a well-supported risk rating, identification of and description of credit risks and mitigants, industry concerns, market trends, financial trends, and other pertinent credit issues of respective deals.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business or related field preferred.
- 5 years of credit analysis, business lending or finance experience desired.
- Understanding of SBA programs along with industry standards and rules/regulations preferred.
- Demonstrates knowledge of commercial/business lending and business relationship development activities by possessing experience in commercial credit processing, underwriting, and sales calling activities.
- Thorough knowledge of all credit union, state and federal policies, procedures and laws regarding lending.
- Demonstrates flexibility and ability to work in a volume-oriented environment. Work schedule may require evening/weekend hours, business visits, and availability to meet with members at locations convenient to them.
