Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and highly organized Junior Accountant to work directly with the Senior Director of Finance and our dynamic accounting team. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in accounting operations, data analysis, and financial reporting. You will play a key role in managing day-to-day accounting functions, including account reconciliation, journal entries, and accounts payable/ receivable. Additionally, you will support accounting processes and contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting systems and procedures. This position is a critical role in our organization and requires a strong background in accounting principles, financial software, and analysis.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Reconcile ledgers, accounts, balances, and statements in a timely manner
- Prepare and present accurate P&Ls, Balance Sheets, Cash Flow Statements, and other monthly reports and supporting statements according to defined corporate schedule
- Analyzing financial statements, journal entries, and general ledger activities.
- Oversee and manage work of AR/AP and order processing staff to ensure timeliness, accuracy, and compliance with company policies
- Develop and maintain reports using Excel with advanced functionalities, and complex formulas to track financial metrics.
- Produce, record, and communicate accurate commission and bonus reports
- Maintain accurate balances in all customer and partner accounts
- Monitor and quickly alert management regarding major discrepancies or concerns with any transaction, data or trend differing from company’s expectations and policies
- Ensures all externally required tax and financial reporting is prepared and filed either directly or by collaborating with firms selected and approved by the company
- Ensure information is backed up, kept confidential and help improve internal controls
- Participate in internal audits and ISO process improvement activities
- Comply with federal, state, local and company policies, procedures, and regulations as well as generally accepted accounting practices
- Post all activity in QuickBooks
- Maintain the accuracy of the general ledger
- Administrative tasks as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- BA in accounting or finance
- 2 years’ experience of relevant accounting and bookkeeping experience
- High proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel required
- Experience with Salesforce and other Microsoft Office tools highly desirable
- Proven customer service orientation, effective collaboration and negotiation skills
