We are seeking an experienced Storage Engineer with expertise in Brocade SAN switches and NetApp storage solutions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and troubleshooting storage area networks (SANs) and enterprise storage systems, ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability.
Key Responsibilities
- SAN Management: Configure, monitor, and manage Brocade SAN switches, including zoning, firmware upgrades, and performance tuning.
- NetApp Storage Administration: Deploy, configure, and maintain NetApp storage systems (ONTAP, AFF, FAS, etc.), including provisioning storage, snapshots, and replication.
- Performance Optimization: Monitor and analyze storage performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement improvements.
- Backup & Disaster Recovery: Develop and maintain data protection strategies using SnapMirror, SnapVault, and other replication technologies.
- Automation & Scripting: Use PowerShell, Python, or Ansible to automate storage operations and management tasks.
- Troubleshooting & Support: Provide L2/L3 support for storage-related issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures.
- Capacity Planning: Monitor storage utilization trends and plan for future growth, ensuring cost-effective storage solutions.
- Security & Compliance: Ensure storage systems meet security best practices and compliance requirements (HIPAA, SOC, ISO, etc.).
- Collaboration: Work closely with infrastructure, virtualization, and application teams to optimize storage performance and integration.
- Experience: 5 years in storage engineering with hands-on experience in Brocade SAN and NetApp storage.
- Brocade Expertise: Strong knowledge of Brocade Fabric OS (FOS), zoning, trunking, and diagnostics.
- NetApp Expertise: Deep understanding of NetApp ONTAP, clustering, snapshots, replication, and backup solutions.
- Protocols: Expertise in FC, iSCSI, NFS, CIFS/SMB storage protocols.
- Scripting & Automation: Hands-on experience with PowerShell, Python, or Ansible for storage automation.
- Monitoring Tools: Familiarity with tools like NetApp Active IQ, Brocade Network Advisor, and Splunk.
- Certifications (Preferred):
- Brocade Certified Fabric Professional (BCFP)
- NetApp Certified Data Administrator (NCDA)
- NetApp Certified Implementation Engineer (NCIE)
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
