Vice President of Sales - Remet Alcohol, Inc
Job Purpose:
The Vice President of Sales will drive the profitable operation, development, and growth of Remet Alcohol by planning, directing, coordinating, and overseeing sales, marketing, and technical field support. This role is responsible for the day-to-day operations and strategic direction of the Remet Alcohol business.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Business Growth:
- Lead sales growth initiatives to expand the Remet Alcohol business.
- Develop and implement pricing strategies to optimize margins while maintaining market share.
- Prepare and analyze gross profit reports for existing and new product lines, recommending pricing adjustments to enhance profitability.
- Update and execute the annual sales and three-year marketing plan to achieve financial objectives.
- Identify market trends, customer needs, and competitive activity, developing strategies to address them.
Product Development & Market Positioning:
- Oversee the launch of new products, ensuring effective communication of specifications and safety data sheets (SDS).
- Develop and distribute technical data packages to support new product introductions.
- Conduct market research to assess market size, growth opportunities, and profitability.
- Establish and manage product pricing to balance profitability with competitiveness.
- Create strategic alliances with industry partners to enhance market positioning.
Operational & Financial Management:
- Prepare Revex & Capex proposals with financial analysis to support business growth.
- Manage programs for selling slow-moving inventory to optimize asset utilization.
- Develop and implement product line business plans, including revenue goals and strategic growth initiatives.
- Track and report budget performance and business results against objectives.
Marketing & Customer Engagement:
- Develop and execute marketing, advertising, and sales promotion plans.
- Ensure effective communication of product specifications to meet customer expectations.
- Oversee competitive analysis, identifying opportunities to enhance product positioning.
- Maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, and industry associations.
Quality & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 standards and company quality policies.
- Support quality initiatives, including Total Quality Management (TQM) and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
Key Working Relationships:
Internal:
- President & CEO – Report business performance and strategic direction.
- Plant Management – Coordinate production and product availability.
- Supply Chain Management – Oversee procurement and logistics.
- Laboratory Manager – Ensure efficient technical customer service.
External:
- Customers – Manage product positioning, pricing, and promotions.
- Vendors – Maintain supplier relationships and product performance standards.
- Industry Associations – Represent Remet Alcohol in industry forums.
- Strategic Partners – Foster partnerships for business expansion.
Complexity & Decision-Making:
This role operates within corporate policies, budget constraints, and regulatory guidelines. Major policy decisions, unbudgeted expenditures, and financial commitments beyond authority limits must be approved by the President & CEO.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related technical discipline (MBA preferred).
- 5-10 years of senior management experience in sales, marketing, and business development within the alcohol or related industries.
- Strong financial analysis, negotiation, and strategic planning skills.
- Experience with purchasing, project management, and market research.
- Familiarity with quality management systems such as ISO 9000, TQM, and SPC.
