Description
The Bulk Receiving - Maintenance Technician is a position utilized by our location to fulfill multiple roles throughout a season as relates to all aspects of seed corn production with a priority in bulk seed corn receiving and maintenance. This position has a very important role in ensuring product integrity of seed received at the plant. The individual should have a good mechanical aptitude and hours can include weekends during critical times if necessary. Other tasks include warehousing, preventive maintenance, conditioning, and packaging. The individual must be able to work together with others, yet when asked, have the ability to complete tasks on their own and on time. The employee must gain an understanding of our Company Culture and Customer relationships. Employee will be required to learn and understand the quality processes and functions of all plant operations.
Requirements
· Reliable, dependable, good attitude
· Ability to perform job tasks safely
· Compliance with location policies and procedures for both safety and quality
· Thorough cleaning of all equipment and avoid variety mixtures in receiving bins in order to maintain product integrity
· Safely climb stairs and/or ladders to monitor and adjust equipment
· Ability to perform general and preventive maintenance on all site equipment
· Ability to perform physical labor, lift greater than 50 lbs.
· Communicating effectively and positively with all employees and outside people
· Maintaining efficient use of time to ensure company profitability
· CDL, forklift and agricultural experience are preferred
· Understanding and following shipping procedures for accurate deliveries and returns
· Maintaining a neat, clean, and organized work area
· Preforming additional duties as assigned
· Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check
