Staff Accountant
Remington Seeds is seeking an energetic and inquisitive accounting professional with zero to two years of experience to join our Finance Team. The Staff Accountant will be given responsibilities commensurate with experience and will receive opportunities to develop new skills and learn the business enabling future growth. The Staff Accountant assists the Controller and the Finance Team in all aspects of financial accounting necessary to run a large, multi-location agricultural production business, culminating in monthly internal financial reporting and quarterly US GAAP-based financial reporting. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Lead invoice to cash activities including invoice entry, cash receipt processing, customer account application, bank deposit preparation, and Accounts Receivable collection support.
- Participate in monthly internal and quarterly US GAAP general ledger closings including journal entry preparation, workpaper detail and account reconciliations, and account fluctuation analysis.
- Distribute location financial statements and work with location managers and staff to investigate differences compared to budget or prior year and make correcting journal entries as needed.
- Act as accounting lead for small subsidiary including invoice to cash activities, monthly journal entry preparation, workpaper detail and account reconciliations, bank account reconciliations, and monthly management reporting.
- Coordinate monthly inventory roll forward for joint venture affiliate, ensuring proper recording of monthly inventory activity by SKU along with preparation and communication of related monthly journal entries to JV management.
- Prepare state filings and supporting analysis for regulatory compliance, including subsequent audit support when necessary.

- Accounting aptitude as evidenced by coursework and GPA
- Strong communicator (verbal, written, presentation)
- Microsoft Office experience, advanced MS Excel preferred
