Qualifications

The Senior Director, Internal Communications role is to refine and implement a new internal communications strategy to support ongoing transformational organizational and cultural change. This position reports to the SVP, Marketing & Communications and will collaborate with the SVP and AccentCare’s HR leaders to transform internal communications into a strategic partner within the business, empowering employees with the information they need and communicating our culture. This role will collaborate and work cross-functionally with the corporate communications team on shared internal / external projects. The overarching goals for this role include driving the desired culture, building pride and alignment among staff, inspiring a shared responsibility for active communication, and reinforcing our patient-centric focus at all levels of the company.

  • Partner with SVP, Marketing & Communications and other senior leaders to refine and implement AccentCare’s internal communications strategy to enhance engagement, foster transparency, and align staff with the mission, values, and goals of AccentCare.
  • Work collaboratively to break down communication silos and share messaging from different departments and project teams internally.
  • Prioritize and respond to internal communications needs across the organization, ensuring tactful and strategic responses that align with company goals.
  • Maintain an editorial calendar for employee-facing content creation, including high-quality written, digital, and visual communications materials, ensuring brand compliance and consistency in tone of voice across all internal platforms, channels, and events.
  • Maintain, oversee, and refine a suite of internal communications channels and tools, and stay current with new technologies and approaches available for effective internal communications.
  • Strengthen feedback loops for continuous two-way engagement between branch staff and leadership.
  • Develop storytelling methods to recognize and celebrate employees living AccentCare values and competencies to help reinforce them across the organization.
  • Develop and maintain an evaluation framework of metrics and methods for ongoing assessment of the effectiveness of the internal communications program, and regularly report progress to leadership.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested by leadership.
  • Direct and oversee AccentCare’s internal communications team : set objectives, manage budgets, monitor performance, and assess outcomes. Lead a “client” service-oriented team environment that fosters collaboration, transparency, teamwork, flexibility, and creativity. Coach team members to maximize creativity, productivity, and effectiveness.

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 10 years’ communications experience in a corporate role or with an agency with a record of management and supervisorial experience; ability to work effectively and independently with internal and external constituencies and with professionals of varied disciplines to accomplish tasks and projects.
  • Experience leading and developing teams in a remote-work and asynchronous setting
  • Experience in healthcare a plus, but not required.
  • Demonstrated experience and leadership in managing comprehensive strategic communications programs to advance an organization’s mission and goals.
  • Experience supporting change management and organizational design efforts.
  • Highly collaborative style and with an ability to present updates and results regularly to stakeholders, including business and executive leaders.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
  • Self-starter, able to work independently and entrepreneurially; experience creating, developing and implementing new initiatives;
  • Ability to produce high-quality deliverables with meticulous attention to detail. Must be metrics-driven and results-oriented with demonstrated analytical skills.
  • Ability to provide quick turnaround and updates for multiple requests while maintaining a strong reputation for high-quality work.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a cross-functional team.
  • Must be able to perform successfully in a fast-paced, and service-oriented environment. Experience working successfully within a complex organization.
