Administrative Support Professional

Position Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Support Professional to provide essential clerical and administrative support for the Transition Assistance Program (TAP). This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate documentation, compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) and Air Force regulations, and effective service delivery. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience in a government or military environment and be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the TAP program, ensuring adherence to DoD and Air Force policies.
- Communicate procedural and factual information clearly, both orally and in writing, to service members, leadership, and community partners.
- Conduct research and collect data from various sources (databases, manuals, policies, reports) to support program operations.
- Analyze reports and numerical data to identify trends, assess issues, and recommend solutions.
- Maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive personal and program-related information.
- Input and manage Congressionally mandated documentation for TAP, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements.
- Review and assess administrative policies and procedures to enhance service delivery.
- Scan, upload, and maintain electronic records with a high level of accuracy.
- Provide data entry and documentation support in systems such as AFFIRSTS, DoDTAP, and TAPEvents.org.
- Serve as a point of contact for program inquiries, addressing both technical and non-technical requests from service members and leadership.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with installation leadership and community partners to facilitate collaboration and program effectiveness.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree OR at least 3 years of experience in a military or government environment.
- At least one year of experience in clerical work or data entry in an office setting.
- Minimum one year of experience working with TAP or in a military setting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Professional communication and customer service skills, including telephone etiquette and office management knowledge.
- Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English to effectively communicate with staff and service members.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience handling confidential records and sensitive data.
- Knowledge of military protocol, procedures, and reporting systems.
- Prior experience in a government contracting environment.
