Job Title: Database Administrator (DBA)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, maintain, and optimize our organization's databases. The ideal candidate will ensure database security, performance, and availability while collaborating with development and IT teams to support business operations. This role requires expertise in database administration, troubleshooting, and performance tuning across various database platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain database systems (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.).
- Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies.
- Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with industry regulations.
- Perform database backups, disaster recovery planning, and failover strategies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database issues, ensuring minimal downtime and high availability.
- Develop and implement database policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Work closely with developers to optimize queries, indexes, and schema design.
- Automate database management tasks using scripts and database tools.
- Stay updated with emerging database technologies and recommend improvements.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Database Administrator with expertise in SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Strong knowledge of database security, backup and recovery, and high-availability solutions.
- Experience with database performance tuning and optimization techniques.
- Familiarity with cloud-based database solutions (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, etc.) is a plus.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Shell, etc.).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
