Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and administrative support in a fast-paced medical environment. You will work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure the smooth operation of our facility, contributing to the well-being of our patients.
Must be able to work 2 locations below
Martinsville on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:30am-5pm
Tuesday and Thursday at Danville, or Roanoke
Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
- Perform clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, administering medications, and preparing patients for examinations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring compliance with medical terminology and systems.
- Provide medical administrative support, including scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and handling insurance documentation.
- Educate patients on medication administration and care instructions.
- Support urgent care services by triaging patients and addressing immediate health concerns.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide exceptional patient care in various settings including geriatrics and emergency medicine.
- Uphold the highest standards of hygiene and safety within the clinical environment.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program is required.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, and clinical procedures.
- Experience in a hospital or urgent care setting is preferred.
- Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems and other relevant software applications.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient interaction and education.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
