Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and administrative support in a fast-paced medical environment. You will work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure the smooth operation of our facility, contributing to the well-being of our patients.

Must be able to work 2 locations below

Martinsville on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:30am-5pm

Tuesday and Thursday at Danville, or Roanoke

Responsibilities

  • Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
  • Perform clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, administering medications, and preparing patients for examinations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring compliance with medical terminology and systems.
  • Provide medical administrative support, including scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and handling insurance documentation.
  • Educate patients on medication administration and care instructions.
  • Support urgent care services by triaging patients and addressing immediate health concerns.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide exceptional patient care in various settings including geriatrics and emergency medicine.
  • Uphold the highest standards of hygiene and safety within the clinical environment.

Qualifications

  • Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program is required.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, and clinical procedures.
  • Experience in a hospital or urgent care setting is preferred.
  • Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems and other relevant software applications.
  • Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient interaction and education.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Compassionate demeanor with a strong commitment to providing quality patient care.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Medical Specialty:

Experience:

  • EMR systems: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Vital signs: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • BLS Certification (Preferred)
  • Certified Medical Assistant (Preferred)

Ability to Commute:

Ability to Relocate:

  • Martinsville, VA 24115: Relocate before starting work (Required)
