We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Cost Accountant to join busy finance team for a well-established local manufacturing company. In this role, you will be responsible for tracking and analyzing production costs, preparing cost reports, and providing insights to help optimize manufacturing efficiency and profitability. You will work closely with the production, inventory, and finance teams to ensure accurate cost data is maintained and financial objectives are met.
Key Responsibilities :
- Cost Analysis : Analyze production costs and variances, including raw materials, labor, and overhead. Identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for cost savings.
- Cost Reporting : Prepare and maintain accurate cost reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, providing detailed insights into cost structures and profitability.
- Inventory Valuation : Oversee inventory management and valuation, ensuring that accurate cost of goods sold (COGS) is recorded, and inventory levels are properly tracked.
- Job Costing : Track job costing for specific production runs, ensuring accurate cost allocation for all direct and indirect costs.
- Standard Costing : Establish, monitor, and update standard cost systems for all products. Review and analyze the effectiveness of standard cost rates.
- Budgeting & Forecasting : Assist in budgeting and forecasting for production costs, working closely with senior management to set targets and performance expectations.
- Internal Controls & Compliance : Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards related to cost accounting practices.
- Process Improvement : Identify and recommend improvements to cost accounting processes and systems, contributing to overall efficiency in the finance and operations departments.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work closely with other departments such as Operations, Production, and Purchasing to ensure alignment on cost control initiatives and pricing strategies.
