Renaissance Services and their d.b.a. Go Pave Utah, Utah’s trusted paving company specializing in all aspects of paving, property/facilities management and more, is looking for a detailed, hard working, loyal individual to take on the role of Paving Team Lead for their growing company. This full-time position answers directly to the Operations Manager, who is a kind, positive, knowledgeable individual who goes beyond the call of duty to keep the in-house paving operations running at maximum capacity 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The successful candidate will be a paving specialist who can lead a team and perform all the aspects of an asphalt job from reading job specifications, site preparation, working all pieces of equipment, leveling, making water run, problem solving and filling out the paperwork along the way. This position requires mental and physical toughness to withstand 12-14 hour days six to seven days a week in our busy season from April to November. Our company runs at a fast pace and the Paving Team Lead must be able to plan for the week ahead but be ready to change direction immediately due to new opportunities and challenges along the way. This is an excellent position for a hard working paving operator who loves motivating a team of rough and tumble guys to be the best they can be to meet and exceed customer expectations. Each day will be busy in the field managing the crew and performing all tasks related to the job and leading the team by example. This takes someone who is professional, able to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish and someone who has eyes in the back of their head to be aware of everything around them to make sure all crew members follow safety and quality standards to meet our customers expectations of high-quality, on-time paving services.

The Roles & Responsibilities of the Paving Team Lead include:
- Coordinating and/or performing all tasks related to preparing for all the daily and weekly paving jobs (confirming crew schedules, ensuring the right equipment and supplies for each job, checking paperwork and checklists, and communicating with the crew and Operations Manager constantly along the way)
- Performing all physical tasks related to each job (loading/unloading equipment and supplies, site set up and clean-up, operating the paver, skidsteer, smooth drum roller, raking asphalt, and everything else in-between)
- Performing all daily and weekly administrative tasks related to crew time entries, job materials and equipment, total project hours, expenses, etc..
- Leading a paving team to include day to day motivation, holding team members accountable to productivity and performance metrics, coaching, skills training, safety training, performance evaluations, documenting employee incidences, creating training and development plans, etc.
This position requires the following experience and skill sets:
- 5 years’ experience operating a paver; expert in levelling, making water run, etc.
- 2 years’ experience leading, training, coaching and motivating a crew of 4 or more team members
- 2 years’ experience operating a skidsteer, smooth drum roller and other job site equipment
- 2 years’ experience coordinating jobs from reading site plans, requesting equipment and materials and planning job site needs 1-2 weeks in advance
- 2 years’ experience heavy lifting, working in hot and cold weather conditions
- 2 years’ communicating and working w/team members in Spanish and English
- 1 years’ leading safety policies, procedures and training programs
- 1 years’ managing equipment and supplies inventory
- 1 years’ maintaining and troubleshooting small equipment engines
- Understanding of concrete and other in the field construction disciplines a plus
- Master problem solver and ability to go with the flow
- Experience w/quality control and cost control policies and procedures
- Professional communication and relationship building skills to work closely with subcontractors, superintendents, customers and other key stakeholders on projects in the field
- Excellent time management and prioritization skills
- Excellent follow-up skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to travel 2-3 days a month
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft & Google applications; Excel Spreadsheets
- An aptitude to learn new computer programs
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50-75 lbs
- Ability to run snow removal equipment and physically shovel snow
- Ability to mentally and physically handle 14-16 hour days; 6 to 7 days a week from April to November
- Valid Driver’s License and Clean Driving Record
- Ability to pass a drug test and background check

Work Schedule & Requirements
- 30 hours week in slow season for snow removal, training, planning, etc.
- 60 hours/week beginning in April through November- 5:30 a.m. until the jobs get done daily
- Weekends/overtime and 2-3 days a month travel required
Compensation & Perks
