Position Overview
This position works cooperatively with leadership of the congregation that owns the school (if any), LUMIN's Board of Directors, school staff, parents and students to help the school accomplish its mission of nurturing and equipping all children in a strong Christian and academic environment to become lifelong learners, growing in faith, capable of making responsible decisions, and serving God and the community. The Operations Manager provides overall structure and support in the day-to-day needs in running the operations of the school. Handle all duties in an efficient and service-oriented manner.
Key responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
School Operations
Substitute teach in emergency situations when and if no one is available
Supports building administrative assistant
Sets up classes in Skyward
Monitors classes/student data for Illuminate
Organize and manage parent teacher conference sign ups and 100% attendance
Updating scorecard bi-weekly
Manages all Tech forms and parent handbook signed sheets
Ensures household income forms are completed and entered
Managers birthdays and incentives. Knows the schedule, procures prizes for incentives and organizes birthday boards and celebrations
Manages attendance and tardies. Oversees collecting by 8:30, ensures phone calls to parents and maintains skyward and scorecard data. Alerts Principal when students are at 5 absences and monitor and follow up with parents when there are at 5 tardies.
Fills out attendance tracker and follows LUMIN’s attendance playbook with fidelity
Roster update
Ordering and Material Management:
Manages classroom inventory and ordering (summer specific)
Manages school ordering of supplies, paper etc
Ensure both teacher workrooms are stocked with waters and snacks
Organize/support arrival and dismissal procedures and fluidity
Retention/Enrollment:
Choice paperwork
Count day
Oversee and train Administrative Assistant. Ensure they are able to complete enrollment appropriately
Lead and support school recruitment, events and follow up
Updates Skyward and scorecard with classroom data
Updating class lists with changes
Office Responsibilities:
Data entry of behavior and follow up tracking.
Sick forms and corrections
Manage volunteer training materials and forms
Organizes and follows up on all field trips. Forms, tracking, reserving buses
Oversees 100% of the meal program. Training and supervision of meal program and servers. Tracks and follows up on claims, mistakes and incorrect orders
Oversees facilities, maintenance and order forms
Works with vendors as necessary
Manages and oversees cleaning services. Communicating when and where gaps are
Oversees picture day, yearbook and distribution
Oversees updating the website
Supports Professional Development
Support for New teachers. Leads tours and machine usage training
Schedule and lead building tours with parents
Oversees organization and logistics of all school wide family events. Participates and supports logistics as the main point person along with the Principal
Leads Parent Organization League
Supports family needs. Able to lead and support interns as they plan for family engagement activities

Administrative
Participate and attend school functions and faculty meetings
Provide leadership in ensuring a positive and co-operative culture and climate exists within the school
Provide structure, directions, and evaluation of Administrative Assistant
Participate in faculty devotions
Experience and Requirements
Must believe in Christian-based philosophy and principles and extend those to students and families
A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited University
Ability to maintain confidentiality and work in a professional manner with a diverse population of children, youth and adults
Possess the ability to establish a rapport with youth, parents and other staff, while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
Experience working in an urban school environment, including general knowledge of issues facing at-risk youth, is desired
Excellent communication skills
Ability to effectively collaborate with other disciplines in problem solving
Ability to communicate and work in multiple settings and environments
Has a personal belief in God’s ability to change lives
Working Conditions
Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time, depending on work tasks
Work will be performed in a school environment
Willingness to be outside with students during recess/breaks
Clear need to understand and lead efforts in child and school safety
