Senior Public Health Researcher

Renaye James Healthcare Advisors (RJHA) is seeking a self-motivated, , detail-oriented, quality-focused, and diligent public health researcher to join our healthcare consultant team as an independent contractor. As a Public Health Researcher, you will play a vital role in conducting research studies and implementing public health interventions to address various health issues and improve community well-being.

Senior Public Health Researcher Duties and Responsibilities

· Coordinates with the consultant team and key stakeholders to determine research needs

· Adheres to timelines and deadlines associated with projects

· Designs and conducts research studies to investigate public health issues and trends

· Collects, analyzes, and interprets data related to health outcomes, disease prevention, and healthcare access

· Develops research proposals, protocols, and data collection tools

· Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to implement public health interventions and programs

· Presents research findings at conferences, seminars, and other professional events

· Writes research reports, articles, and publications for peer-reviewed journals

· Provides guidance and support to junior researchers and interns

· Stays updated on current public health policies, guidelines, and best practices

· Leads and participates in program evaluation processes

· Organizes and manipulates databases

· Uses visual displays (e.g., Dashboards) to communicate data, trends, and progress

· Provides frequent (formal and informal) progress reports and presentations to the consultant team and key stakeholders

· Develops a process to routinely monitor and audit data and promote opportunities to analyze data more efficiently and improve data integrity

· Work independently and as part of a team to handle multiple projects simultaneously with little supervision

· Stays informed about current healthcare and public health trends

Senior Public Health Researcher Requirements and Qualifications

· Master’s degree or higher in public health or related healthcare related field

· A minimum of five (5) years of analytical or research experience is required, preferably in a healthcare or public health setting

· Grant writing experience, preferred

· Knowledgeable about healthcare quality

· In-depth knowledge about/experience in healthcare, social determinants of health, clinical medicine, population health, or similar field

· Experience with quality and performance improvement methodologies

· Experience in dashboard development, visual data displays, etc.

· Experience with SQL

· Expert with statistical software (e.g., SPSS, SAS, STATA, Minitab)

· Expert in the Microsoft Office Suite, and data visualization such as Power BI, Tableau, MS Excel geo-mapping

· Strong written and oral communication skills, database skills, and computer skills

Supervision: This position has no supervisory role.

Travel: Less than 10% travel

Work Schedule: Contract

Work Location: On-site, Remote, or Hybrid

Compensation: Commensurate with experience.

This position involves extensive computer work, including data entry, analysis, and report generation, with the ability to maintain focus and productivity while seated.

This position may require lifting office supplies weighing up to twenty pounds.
