We're looking for a motivated Junior Software Engineer to become a part of our dynamic Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) team. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to grow and develop your skills in software architecture, development, and integration, all while contributing to mission-critical systems that support our nation’s defense efforts.

Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math-related field or allowable substitutions. Relevant experience consistent with duties, responsibilities and qualifications listed above may be considered as a substitution for a bachelor’s degree.

- Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work with systems engineers, test engineers, logisticians, and program managers to understand and meet software requirements for the program
- Document Review & Support: Assist in reviewing and understanding Interface Control Documents (ICD), Interface Design Documents (IDD), and Software Version Descriptions (SVD)
- Software Development & Integration: Support the development, testing, and integration of software for both embedded systems and broader system architectures
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in periodic software reviews, identify areas for improvement, and suggest enhancements to the software development process
- Technology Awareness: Stay up to date with emerging software technologies and contribute ideas to improve program effectiveness
- Learning and Growth: Take initiative to learn new technologies and tools relevant to the platforms and systems being developed, while receiving guidance from senior engineers
- Familiarity with software development methodologies and programming languages (e.g., C, C , Python, etc.)
- Basic understanding of embedded systems, system architecture, and software integration
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Enthusiasm for learning new technologies and applying them to real-world systems
- Active Secret Security Clearance
- Familiarity with Agile methodology
