Since 1925, Renewable Water Resources (ReWa) has been committed to providing high-quality wastewater treatment services to the Upstate of South Carolina while promoting a cleaner environment, protecting public health and the water quality of Upstate waterways, and developing the necessary sewer infrastructure to sustain our community and growing economy. With nine water resource recovery facilities and more than 350 miles of pipe, we serve a broad geographic area, including Greenville County and portions of Anderson, Laurens, Pickens, and Spartanburg Counties. Each day an estimated 42 million gallons of water passes through our trunk lines and reclamation facilities before being cleaned and returned to our area rivers and streams.
Job Summary- Pay Range- $68,000- $90,000/year
This position will be responsible for assessing and prioritizing WRRF (Water Resource Recovery Facility) asset needs and ensuring proper procurement and instillation of RI purchases. This position will be specifically focused on supporting WRRF level of service evaluations, WRRF equipment replacement, spare parts planning, and assisting the implementation of asset management. This position requires a person that possesses excellent project management skills; is flexible, innovative, resourceful, and able to function well within a team environment. In addition, the position requires a person that can perform advanced technical and professional support that includes applying technical and analytical knowledge, performing workflow analysis, data input, reporting and documentation in conjunction with technical support and related field work. This position will be required to establish and maintain effective working relationships with their assigned Manager, WRRF Supervisors, WRRF Lead Operators, other ReWa employees and the general public.
About the Job-
The tasks listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this position. Management may assign additional tasks related to the type of work of the position as necessary.
· Provides equipment management/replacement oversight for ReWa’s WRRF Dept.
· Plans, forecasts, and executes necessary asset replacements and/or maintenance needs based on lifespan estimates and maintenance history.
· Assesses facility equipment on a routine basis and scores deficiencies according to Probability of Failure and Consequence of Failure.
· Maintains and updates tracking system for equipment assessments, replacements and recommended spare parts.
· Develops scopes of work and obtains quotes in accordance with ReWa’s Procurement Code for all equipment replacement purchases.
· Manages and prioritizes assigned capital projects, directs work of consultants and contractors on said projects; reviews and approves requests for payment.
· Reviews technical and cost data for plant operations related to assets; implements ways to increase plant efficiency and lower costs.
· Inspects construction work in progress, and at completion, for compliance with established policies, procedures, regulations, codes, contracts, and standards of quality and safety; ensures compliance with all NPDES permit requirements. Manages installation and start-up processes.
· Manages purchases and installations with WRRF Supervisors, WRRF Maintenance Dept., Engineering and external contractors as needed.
· Prepares required documents for purchases to include budget reallocation forms, budget request forms, sole source justifications, etc.
· Leads functional and technical teams as the technical expert in equipment assessments and condition.
· Utilizes CityWorks, and updates accordingly, regarding equipment assessments, replacements and tagging.
· Aides WRRF employees in conducting root cause analysis and after-action reviews related to equipment failures within the WRRFs, tracks accordingly.
· Develops and implements policies, procedures and process changes required for successful asset performance across the WRRF Dept.
Basic Requirements-
· Must possess a valid state driver’s license.
· Requires an Associate of Science degree or PMP certification, with four (4) years of relevant work experience. Equivalent work experience will be considered in lieu of associate degree.
· Must acquire a class “D” Biological Wastewater Treatment License within two (2) years of employment.
· Experience and a working knowledge with asset management systems to support utilities/public works/engineering applications.
· Must have advanced experience in project management, procurement, utility equipment operation.
· Must have ability to utilize MS Office Applications to communicate complex plans to various stakeholders.
· Must have strong understanding of wastewater equipment including but not limited to the following: pumps, mixers, compressors, heat exchangers, thickening and dewatering equipment, etc.
