Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Cabin Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing support and guidance to children in our summer camps for 2025. This role requires a strong understanding of child development and the ability to create a safe, engaging, and nurturing atmosphere for all participants.
Two camps are:
June 30, 2025 - July 5th 2025 on the shore of Lake Tahoe.
August 3, 2025 - August 8, 2025 in Portola, Ca.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate daily activities and programs that promote social, emotional, and physical development among children.
- Provide individualized support to children with special needs or unique challenges.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants by maintaining a secure environment.
- Educate children on important life skills through structured activities and play.
- Manage classroom dynamics effectively to foster positive interactions among peers.
- Plan and implement creative programs that may include arts, theater, sports, and recreational activities.
- Maintain open communication with parents or guardians regarding children's progress and any concerns that may arise.
- Administer first aid as necessary and respond appropriately to emergencies.
Skills
- Experience in camp settings or childcare environments is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of special education practices is a plus.
- Strong babysitting experience can be beneficial in understanding child behavior and needs.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is preferred to ensure the safety of all participants.
- Ability to educate children effectively through engaging methods tailored to their developmental stages.
- Proficient in classroom management techniques to maintain an organized learning environment.
- A background in theater or creative arts can enhance program offerings and engage children creatively.
