The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for managing the monthly accounts payable cycle for several of our facilities.

Job Summary:
The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for managing the monthly accounts payable cycle for several of our facilities.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Data Entry of invoices into document management and accounting system.
- Verifies outstanding vendor statements and completing vendor credit applications.
- Facilitates payment of vendors, which may include verification of federal ID numbers, receiving management approval, reviewing purchase orders, and resolving discrepancies.
- Receives and verifies expense reports; reconciles expense and other financial reports with account balances and other office records.
- Ensures outstanding obligations are credited upon payment, identifies discount opportunities, and issues purchase order amendments or stop-payment orders as needed.
- Files Sales & Use tax reports.
- Calculates and reports sales tax based on paid invoices.
- Track non-budgeted and capitalized purchases.
- Processes year-end 1099s and other statements for vendors and government reporting. Verifies totals to invoices paid, prints forms, mails and files with government IRS statements.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Associate Accounting Degree and/or 2 years of experience in Accounts Payable.
- Ability to work as a team player, self-sufficient, effective communication skills.
- Accuracy, dependability, professionalism, and confidentiality are essential.
- Position requires attention to detail, organization, multi-tasking, and problem solving.
- Must be able to learn accounting software systems.
