Rennscot MFG is seeking a dynamic and experienced Additive Manufacturing Manager to lead our innovative additive manufacturing department. This role is critical to the operation and growth of this department, which focuses on providing contract manufacturing services to critical technology sectors such as aerospace, automotive, defense, electronics, semiconductor, and space technologies. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in L-PBF (laser powder bed fusion) processes. Responsibilities
- Leadership and Strategy:
- Develop and implement strategic plans for the additive manufacturing division to align with Rennscot MFG’s overall business goals.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of engineers, technicians, and support staff to foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities and market trends to expand the division's capabilities and customer base.

Technical Oversight:
- Oversee the technical operations of the additive manufacturing division, ensuring the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and safety.
- Drive advancements in L-PBF processes, materials, and technologies to maintain and enhance Rennscot MFG’s competitive edge.
- Support the use of EOS 3D printers and associated software for design, development, and production.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, providing expert guidance on complex projects and technical challenges.
- Lead material and machine qualification efforts, particularly for defense and aerospace prime applications.
- Guide development and execution of material and finished part characterization plans, including mechanical testing and metallurgical evaluation.
- Own and maintain process control documentation within the quality management system (QMS) for all additive manufacturing processes.

Operational Management:
- Ensure efficient utilization of resources, including equipment, materials, and personnel, to optimize production output and minimize costs.
- Establish and enforce robust quality control procedures to meet or exceed industry standards and customer expectations.
- Manage the division’s budget, forecast financial performance, and implement cost-effective strategies to achieve financial targets.
- Support CAPEX projects and major growth initiatives for the Additive department.

Customer Engagement:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients, ensuring exceptional customer service and satisfaction.
- Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to develop and deliver compelling proposals, presentations, and demonstrations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and industry partners to enhance Rennscot MFG’s reputation and market presence.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering, materials science, manufacturing engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in additive manufacturing, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Extensive hands-on experience with L-PBF processes, including design, development, and production.
- Specific experience with EOS 3D printers and Materialize Magics software (Siemens NX is a bonus).
- Proven track record of successfully managing and growing an additive manufacturing division or similar operation.
- Expertise in working with materials such as AlSi10Mg, Ti64, Inconel & more.
- Strong technical knowledge of additive manufacturing technologies, materials, and applications.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strategic thinking and business acumen, with the ability to drive operational improvements and achieve financial objectives.
- Proficiency in CAD software, simulation tools, and manufacturing execution systems.
- Knowledge of AMS & ASTM specifications related to L-PBF and supporting processes & materials.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of subtractive manufacturing processes.
- Prior experience working within a regulated environment (ex. ISO 9001, ISO 13485, AS9100, ITAR/EAR, etc.)
- Prior experience growing a business with a contract manufacturing-based business model.
