Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Porter to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards within our facility. This position is essential for ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for both staff and visitors. The Porter will be responsible for performing custodial duties, including cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining various areas of the facility, with a focus on compliance with OSHA regulations.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning tasks in accordance with established schedules and protocols.
- Sanitize surfaces, restrooms, and common areas to uphold health and safety standards.
- Conduct floor care activities including sweeping, mopping, buffing, and waxing as needed.
- Ensure that all cleaning supplies and equipment are properly maintained and stored.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to management promptly.
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of events or meetings as required.
- Collaborate with the Environmental Services team to ensure high-quality service delivery.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in custodial or commercial cleaning roles is preferred.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations related to cleaning and sanitation practices.
- Familiarity with hospital or healthcare cleaning standards is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail with an emphasis on cleanliness and organization.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Physical stamina to perform tasks that may require lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with staff and visitors.
