JOB SUMMARY
Oversees the day to day operations of the Public Area Housekeeping Department to ensure an efficient and smooth operation and in accordance with established standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (May include, but is not limited to the following)
- Inspect areas of responsibility to insure quality and service standards are being met on a consistent basis
- Ensure all safety, company and departmental policies are being enforced on a daily basis;
- Oversee and approve all departmental purchases
- Efficiently maintain daily, weekly and monthly finances by analyzing reports and forecasting future concerns
- Create a departmental budget for yearly payroll and operating expenses
- Prioritize, organize and follow up on specialized projects
- Train, direct, motivate, mentor and coach employees under your direct supervision
- Conduct employee interviews and hire for open positions within the department
- Approve team member evaluations, vacations and leaves of absences
- Approve weekly payroll for all employee’s within the department
- Properly discipline team members through the consistent use of progressive
- Provide employee recognition to those team members who go above and beyond
- Train, motivate and direct team members
- Conduct bi-monthly meetings with Supervisors/Leads from each shift to discuss upcoming events and notable concerns
- Maintain a positive working relationship with all other departments
- Attendance must be regular and predictable

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Minimum two year supervisory experience
- Minimum one-year public area or housekeeping supervisory experience
- Working knowledge of cleaning equipment and cleaning chemicals
- Knowledge of current cleaning techniques, including but not limited to: carpet care, hard floor care, restroom cleaning, restaurant & bar cleaning. Knowledge of OSHA standards and procedures
- Ability to read, write and communicate verbally in English
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and fellow co-workers and have excellent guest service skills
- Must be able to understand and comply with company and departmental policies and procedures
- Must be multi-task oriented
- High School diploma or equivalent
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT (May be required in order to perform the essential functions of the position)
- Requires seldom sitting, crawling, climbing and balancing on stairs or ladders, lifting/carrying from 25 to over 100 lbs., occasional crouching, kneeling, lifting/carrying from 11 to 25 lbs., frequent standing, walking, reaching overhead and bending over from floor level to 6ft., lifting/carrying 10lbs. or less, repetitive use of both hands to include light and firm/strong grasping and finger dexterity. Requires normal correctable vision range.
- Requires the ability to perform simple tasks, simple reading and writing skills, clerical perception, coordination, supervising, instructing, driving, work with precision, follow instructions, influence others, meet time requirements, memorization skills, problem solving using independent judgment and decision making skills.

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must have the ability to provide internal/ external guests with service excellence, have excellent communication skills and observation skills, and have an easygoing demeanor to ensure a fun and safe environment for our guests. Above average speech – both speaking and reading/writing English. Need excellent interpersonal skills. Work requires schedule flexibility which may include days off, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
