What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ophthalmology Physician position at Renown Health?
Renown Health, Northern Nevada's largest and only not-for-profit locally governed healthcare network is seeking a General Ophthalmologist to join our physician led medical group and help build the Division of Ophthalmology.
The ideal candidate should be a motivated individual interested is managing patients with a wide variety of ophthalmic conditions including cataracts, glaucoma, cornea and medical retina. Individuals with fellowship training in glaucoma and cornea with an interest in building those services in addition to general ophthalmology are encouraged to apply.
Physician will treat Adults 18 and can expect to treat early stage glaucoma with drops and laser, perform more advanced glaucoma surgery (if desired), as well as, basic retina lasers and some cornea refractive surgery.
Renown Health and the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine (UNR Med) are affiliate partners in Nevada's first integrated academic health system. The affiliation aims to improve the health of the community, region, and state through research, medical education, and expanded clinical care. Renown physicians participate as joint faculty at UNR Med for teaching, lectures, supervising clinical rotations, and other academic activities for the education of medical and physician assistant students, residents, and fellows.
