Position Overview:
Our client in the construction industry is hiring for a full time Full Charge Bookkeeper to join their expanding team. This hands-on role will be responsible for managing all aspects of accounting, overseeing daily operations, month-end closing, and providing accurate financial reporting.
The ideal candidate will have strong month-end experience, excellent communication skills, and a solid understanding of accounting processes. This role will be fully onsite at their San Francisco office - convenient onsite parking provided!
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily accounting operations, including general ledger entries, reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
- Oversee and review the work of an accounting clerk
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and reports for senior management.
- Conduct monthly bank reconciliations and ensure proper financial data entry into the accounting system.
- Handle inventory accounting and job costing, ensuring accurate reporting and reconciliation (experience in construction or inventory management is a plus).
- Assist with financial audits and implement any required changes to improve internal controls and processes.
- Support the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and other financial planning activities.
- Act as the primary point of contact for financial questions, providing clear communication to internal stakeholders and vendors.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulations (GAAP).
Qualifications:
- Must Have: Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Extensive hands-on experience with month-end close processes and financial reporting.
- Experience with QuickBooks Desktop is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a bookkeeping or accounting manager role.
- Inventory management and/or construction industry experience is a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
