As a Solution Architect in our Social Impact practice, you will work closely with project managers, business analysts, and key stakeholders to design and implement technology solutions that help advance the missions of Social Impact organizations around the world. These organizations include nonprofits, NGOs, intergovernmental agencies, arts & culture organizations, libraries and galleries, and other entities that support a mission for community/social good. This practice also supports the software vendor community that supports Social Impact clients.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with clients to understand their business needs and provide appropriate technology solutions. A client-facing consultant approach and presence is essential
- Design scalable, modular, and secure system architectures that meet business and technical requirements
- Lead architectural reviews and milestone sessions with stakeholders and project sponsors
- Oversee the technical direction of multiple projects, ensuring effective communication between development teams and stakeholders
- Develop proofs of concept and provide technical oversight to ensure solutions align with the architectural vision
- Assist in pre-sales activities and client training as needed
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
- 5 years of experience designing and implementing microservices or service-oriented architecture.
- 3 years of experience in a consultative role, working directly with clients to deliver solutions.
- 5 years of experience designing SQL-based data solutions.
- 2 years of recent experience with modern data platforms such as Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake, etc.
- 5 years of hands-on coding experience with programming languages like C# etc.
- 5 years of experience with cloud-based solutions, preferably using Azure.
- Occasional travel may be required for this position, with an estimated frequency of up to 10%
Preferred Qualification
- Experience in technology leadership at a nonprofit or mission-driven organization, with an understanding of Social Impact tech decisions and engagement with decision-makers
