What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical & Instrumental Technician position at Republic Paperboard?
Established in 1999, Republic Paperboard Company occupies a 70-acre site in the industrial park in Lawton, Oklahoma. Republic Paperboard’s core business is manufacturing the face and back paper used to produce gypsum wallboard. We also manufacture brown and white bag papers as well as high-performance linerboard products used in the manufacture of boxes.

Responsibility included:
- Performs PLC logic troubleshooting and programming
- Performs instrument troubleshooting and calibration
- Works well with operations personnel – asks questions, determines operations’ needs
- Writes and completes work orders
- Works 12-hour shift schedules (DuPont shift schedule) as required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: |

· AC/DC theory · Electronics training · Computer science/programming background · Computer operating system literate (familiar with Windows 95, 98, NT) · Instrument training · Hydraulic and pneumatic systems · PLC programming and troubleshooting · Basic understanding of AC Drives operation · Ability to read electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic prints and logic diagrams · Ability and willingness to work irregular hours as well as shift work |
Minimum Qualifications: |

Completed or enrolled in training that corresponds to the E&I field or 2 or more years of industrial electrical experience. Two-year Associates Degree in electronics/electrical field is desired. Ability to lift 50 lbs. Fluent in the use of English language and ability to be understood over mill radios. Provide own tools from Republic Paperboard tool list. |
