Are you a passionate and dedicated lower middle school educator eager to create a joyful, rigorous, and supportive learning environment? We are seeking an innovative, resilient, and driven educator to join our team as a 5th Grade Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year at Liberty Collegiate Academy.

As a 5th Grade Teacher, you will lead all core content areas, ensuring scholars build a strong academic foundation and develop a love for learning. Your work will focus on the following:

Drive Academic Excellence

  • Develop and implement engaging, standards-aligned lessons across all core subjects.
  • Use data-driven instruction to assess student progress and tailor instruction to meet individual scholar needs.
  • Foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and inquiry-based learning across all disciplines.
  • Integrate culturally relevant and inclusive materials to ensure all scholars see themselves reflected in the curriculum.

Foster a Collaborative Culture

  • Create a joyful and structured classroom environment that supports academic and personal growth.
  • Participate in weekly professional development, embracing constructive feedback to continuously improve your teaching practice.
  • Collaborate with grade-level teammates, interventionists, and special educators to support scholar learning and success.
  • Foster a love of reading, curiosity for science, confidence in math, and appreciation for history and storytelling.

Provide Holistic Support

  • Build strong trust-based relationships with scholars, families, and colleagues.
  • Use positive behavior support strategies to maintain a safe and respectful classroom.
  • Support scholars in developing strong executive functioning, social-emotional, and critical thinking skills.
  • Communicate frequently with families to foster a partnership in their child’s success.

Cultivate Meaningful Learning Experiences

  • Use hands-on, inquiry-based activities, experiments, and projects to make learning engaging and relevant.
  • Integrate technology and real-world connections to enhance scholar learning.
  • Encourage scholars to ask questions, explore new ideas, and take academic risks.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (required).
  • Preferred: Teaching certification in Education or enrollment in a state-accredited Alternative Certification Program by the start of employment.
  • Proven ability to teach multiple content areas effectively and engage elementary-age scholars.
  • Preferred: Previous teaching experience in lower middle school grades, particularly in underserved communities.
