Role Summary: The Craft - Laborer, Skilled, Cable team member is responsible for supervising crew members by ensuring productivity, safety, and compliance with company policies and procedures. This includes translating general work requirements into a prioritized work plan and communicating it to the team, assigning tasks and overseeing the execution of the work, maintaining work standards and outlining behavioral expectations, inspecting and measuring completed work, preparing records and reports, recognizing, addressing, and resolving issues among team members, managing differences and diversity at the work site, organizing and delegating work, presenting, supporting, and leading-by-example with a safety and quality-oriented attitude, ensuring safety is the most important function, following safe practices while working, reinforcing safe behaviors and eliminating 'at risk' behaviors, reporting potentially unsafe conditions and using materials and equipment properly, ensuring Job Hazard Analysis (JHA's) occurs before scopes of work commence, adhering to and understanding standard operating procedures, receiving job- and task-specific training prior to work commencing, following technical, quality and safety systems in place and determining appropriate action, attending work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected, and complying with Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct and Company Policies and Procedures.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Evaluates on-site assessment prior to commencing work to ensure that the job is ready and addresses any concerns.
  • Translates general work requirements into a prioritized work plan and communicates it to the crew.
  • Assigns tasks and oversees the execution of the work including quality and production.
  • Maintains work standards and outlines behavioral expectations to ensure morale, productivity, and safety.
  • Inspects and measures completed work.
  • Prepares records and reports.
  • Recognizes, addresses, and resolves issues among crew members.
  • Manages differences and diversity at the work site.
  • Organizes and delegates work.

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Presents, supports, and leads-by-example with a safety and quality-oriented attitude.

Safety:
  • Ensures that safety is the most important function, follows safe practices while working.
  • Reinforces safe behaviors and eliminates 'at risk' behaviors.
  • Reports potentially unsafe conditions and uses materials and equipment properly.
  • Ensures Job Hazard Analysis (JHA's) occurs before scopes of work commence.
  • Adheres to and understands standard operating procedures.

  • Follows technical, quality and safety systems in place and determines appropriate action.
  • Attends work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected.
  • Complies with Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct and Company Policies and Procedures.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • 3 or more years' construction experience required.
  • Ability to travel domestically 76-100% required.
  • Ability to teach and lead others.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to apply good problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Functional competencies include attention to detail, communication, casting the right shadow, accountability, and ethics and integrity.
