Job Overview
The Director of Nursing oversees and directs the selection and hiring of clinical staff. Conducts interviews and makes hiring decisions. Ensures staff competency and performance. This role also conducts/participates in quarterly quality improvement meetings, reviews pertinent available data, identifies trends and oversees the implementation of improvement plans relating to health services.
Candidates should possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. A degree from an accredited school of nursing and current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) are required. At least two years of nursing experience, with one year in a related management/supervisory role, is preferred.
This position also collaborates with Executive Director in the implementation of quality improvement activities and corrective action plans. Actively participates in weekly team/staff meetings and Participates in the Interdisciplinary team (IDT/PDP) meetings.
