The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene, Inc. (RFMH) is currently seeking one qualified candidate to fill a full-time position for a Mobile Crisis Program Leader as part of a dynamic team for crisis service design, planning and coordination. The position will be in Office of Mental Health, Division of Adult Community Care, Crisis Services Bureau, in Albany, New York.
Background
NYS Office of Mental Health is in the process of developing a comprehensive crisis response system in NYS in collaboration with OASAS, county leadership and other state agencies and stakeholders. SAMHSA has released funding through the Community Mental Health Block Grant (MHBG) to assist in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. A fully realized crisis response system includes someone to call, someone to come, and a place to go. Projects within the Crisis Services Bureau include, but are not limited to, 988 crisis center implementation and monitoring, mobile crisis and county planning, crisis residential development and implementation, crisis stabilization center development and implementation, policy and regulation development, provider and community guidance, project management and public presentations.
The Division of Adult Community Care, Bureau of Crisis, Emergency and Stabilization Initiatives is looking for an individual to fill a full-time position for a Mobile Crisis Program Leader as part of a dynamic team for crisis service design, planning and coordination. This position will focus on leading mobile crisis development, coordination with crisis response services, reimbursement, support, and community connections. The candidate must possess strong written and verbal communications skills, proficiency in office management systems and virtual meetings platforms. Detailed and exacting work products and excellent time management skills are necessary to function in a fast-paced workplace due to strict deadlines and public facing work products.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Lead the coordination of mobile crisis services with state agencies, county leadership, crisis programs, community programs and law enforcement.
- Development of policy recommendations related to identified crisis system implementation and services.
- Lead development of regulation and guidance documents, including technical writing and organization of information for public review
- Consultation and collaboration with underserved communities to understand service need and inform program development.
- Leadership of work groups for regulation, policy, and community development
- Participate in community crisis response planning with Local Mental Hygiene Directors, OMH Field Offices and stakeholders.
- Public presentations to internal and/or external stakeholders
- Project management, including written work plans.
- Collaboration and coordination across OMH Divisions as well as other state agencies and Local Government Units related to crisis service development and implementation.
- Coordinate and organize data for SAMHSA and state reporting.
- Travel, as needed.
Minimum Requirements:
- Master's degree in social work, Public Health, Public Administration, or mental health related field and 3 years' experience working in community behavioral health services; Or Bachelor's Degree and 5 years' experience working in community behavioral health services.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5 years' experience working in community behavioral health crisis services.
