The Center seeks a Research Associate who will work closely with the New York health workforce monitoring team and the health workforce technical assistance team to analyze workforce issues, including data acquisition, management, manipulation, and analysis; survey design; literature review, and report writing. Project portfolio includes New York licensed health professions workforce studies; curation of health careers website, health workforce research website, and health workforce technical assistance center website; oral health workforce projects.
Description of Duties:
Established in 1996, the Center for Health Workforce Studies (https://www.chwsny.org) is a chartered research center of the College of Integrated Health Sciences at University at Albany, State University of New York. The mission of the Center is to produce timely, accurate information and conduct policy-relevant research about the health workforce. The Center conducts studies at the local, regional, state, and national levels. These research studies are supported by, among others, federal and state governments, foundations, and associations representing providers and health care professionals. Research results are presented in peer-reviewed journal articles and reports, as well as presentations made at national conferences and professional meetings. The Center is one of the country's leading research centers of excellence in the health workforce domain.
Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree which includes a minimum of twelve semester credit hours in statistics or, research methods.
- One year of research experience in health care and/or social services. This experience should include determining the information needed and appropriate data sources and collection methods to follow.
- Demonstrated experience developing electronic surveys and providing technical assistance.
- Applicants must demonstrate an ability to develop inclusive and equitable relationships within our diverse campus community.
- Applicants must demonstrate an ability to support diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and belonging relative to their role.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of and experience conducting systematic literature reviews.
- Knowledge of health workforce issues and policies, especially in New York.
- A Master's in public administration, public health, sociology, or other related fields may be substituted for the one year of experience.
Additional Information:
Salary Range: $50,000-$51,500 annually
