Accounts Receivable Representative – Book Publishing Company
Champaign, Illinois
This long-established publisher of educational resources is seeking a self-motivated, energetic individual for the position of Accounts Receivable Rep.

The Accounts Receivable Rep will play an important role in responding to customers and key vendors in this part-time position
Position Summary: This person will learn to work with our proprietary order processing system and perform support duties related to order fulfillment in the warehouse on an as needed basis.
This position requires a friendly, disciplined and detail-oriented person who is computer literate, and works comfortably with Microsoft Office 365 that includes Word, Excel and Outlook email. Training will be provided for publishing-specific tasks. The successful candidate will work closely with the Finance Manager, the current Accounts Service Manager, and the warehouse supervisor. This position will answer to the Finance Manager, the Director of Sales and Operations and is directly supervised by the Accounts Service Manager.
Primary Responsibilities
- Key orders received from our website, emails, fax, phone.
- Send invoices to customers via e-mail.
- Apply or Process payments.
- Prepare bank deposits.
- Maintaining various data in Excel spreadsheets.
- Communicating professionally to collect past due accounts.
- Work one-on-one in a cooperative approach with associates.
- Answer phones, web-generated customer service inquiries.
- As necessary, packing and shipping procedures for UPS and USPS.
- Occasional use of your personal vehicle to deliver packages to the post office/UPS; requires a valid driver’s license and auto insurance coverage.
- Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
- Three years’ experience working with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook email program.
- Three years’ experience working in a related accounting position.
- We will value experience working within QuickBooks.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Must be able to lift 35 to 40-pound cardboard cartons without assistance.
Job Type
- Part-time position, with future opportunity for full-time employment.
- This position should provide between 20-30 hours per week; hours of operation M-Th 8a-3p, Friday 8a-2p; should be flexible when a varied schedule is needed.
- Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour commensurate with proven experience.
- Work Location: Champaign, Illinois.
- 90-Day Probation period.
