The Residence Inn by Marriott Seattle/University District is looking for a full time Housekeeping Supervisor to join our team. We are managed by Puget Sound Hospitality which owns and operates 5 hotels in the Puget sound area.

The details
Salary range: $24.93 - $24.93 per hour
Location: 4501 12th Ave NE, Seattle, WA 98105.
Commute/Transportation: We are located just 1 block from the Link Light rail station and offer a discounted annual ORCA pass. If you prefer to drive, we offer free parking to all of our employees in our underground garage.
Benefits: Our benefits package is available to full time employees after they complete 60 days of employment. This package includes medical, dental, vision, life, and AD&D. We also have 6 paid holidays.
PTO is accrued at 0.0538 hours per hour starting on day 1 of employment.
We partner with Colonial life to offer supplemental insurance options such as accident, short term disability, and whole life during our annual enrollment.
We have a 401(K) retirement plan available to all employees who are 21 and have been employed for 6 months.
We offer Marriott employee room rates as well as Marriott friends and family room rates that can be used based on availability at any Marriott location worldwide.
Work shifts: This position is primarily a daytime shift
The daily job duties
- Assign housekeepers their daily work by breaking out the house using the hotel’s computer system
- Ensure tasks are assigned equally, and ready before housekeepers arrive for their shift
- Manage housekeeping keys and ensuring each key is signed for before and after the housekeeper’s shift
- Distribute daily checklists to housekeeping Aide, lobby attendant, and laundry teams
- Inspect public space and follow up with previous shift as needed
- Inspect guest rooms when completed by housekeepers and provide evaluations and feedback as needed
- Instruct team in correcting any issues found in the guest rooms and public space
- Assist housekeeping manager/operations manager in daily administrative duties to include but not limited to:
- Payroll
- Ordering supplies
- Inventory
- Tracking incentives
- Performance reviews and disciplinary action
- Project completion
- Processing invoices
- Assisting associates with any questions, requests, issues
- Recording lost and found items, storing lost and found items, communicating with guests on lost and found items, and shipping lost and found items
- Provide support and be involved in department meetings
The Requirements
- Maintain strong communication with the front desk team on room statuses
- Knowing and providing information about property facilities
- Knowing how to listen, apologize, and get help when guests encounter problems
- Lead team to achieve exceptional standards of cleanliness
- Adhere to grooming and uniform standards
- Coach, train, and develop housekeeping team
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to clean guest rooms according to brand standards
- Ability to learn hotel/property computer systems
- Provide the best possible customer service to our guests
- Maintain a positive attitude during difficult or stressful situations
- Ability to multi-task and fulfill several demands in a short time frame
- Report any unsafe work practices
- Must be able to lift up to 30lbs, stand, squat, bend, and push cleaning machines and/or carts.
- Must be team oriented
- Must be able to use Microsoft office
