Billing Specialist
STATUS: Non-Exempt, hourly, full-time, 30 hours or more per week
REPORTS TO: Finance Director & Staff Accountant
GENERAL SUMMARY :
The Billing Specialist is responsible for ensuring all essential functions of the Finance Office are accomplished in a timely and accurate manner, and assisting the Director of Finance in the day-to-day coordination and operation of the department in a manner that enhances Vantage House as a whole.
All job duties are to be performed in accordance with established standards as described in the Quality Assurance Manual for the department.
Primary Job Duties :
Ensures data is input into the billing system for resident and Health Center billing.
Ensures Medicare Part A and B claims are submitted. Monitors status and collection of claims.
Monitors Medicare system for ADR/other information requests; assists with ADR resolution process.
Prepares and submits or supervises same for claims to third party insurance companies as appropriate; monitors status.
Ensures periodic resident billing statements are printed and distributed in a timely manner and follows up on account concerns and resident questions.
Monitors all collections and initiates additional collection activity when needed.
Ensures deposits are prepared and made daily or as needed, and that deposits are appropriately recorded.
Posts Wait List and Entrance Fee Deposits in C3Linc; provides support to Marketing.
Prepares Entrance Fee Refunds and posts in C3Linc.
Runs necessary reports. Maintains backup and support documents.
Maintains ledgers, files, storage binders, and electronic files in an orderly fashion as needed.
Assists with various calendar and fiscal year-end procedures as assigned.
Additional responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS :
Must have minimum of:
- Five (5) years’ experience in Medicare and Insurance Reimbursement.
- Experience with PCC ( Point Click Care) and Inovalon
- Excellent customer service & hospitality skills,
- Ability to multitask and meet goals,
- Must be detail-oriented; organized; efficient and meet monthly deadlines.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS :
Must be able to sit for up to 90% of the workday. Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs. Good visual and hearing acuity required; good verbal communication skills required. May be exposed to communicable diseases, and blood and body fluids that may contain HIV and/or HBV. May be exposed to cleaning
Salary Range: $55k - 60k
