Geriatric Care Music Therapist Needed

Job Description

As a Hospice Music Therapist at Residential Home Health and Hospice, you will provide consistent professional music therapy in accordance with company protocols and accepted certification practices. Your responsibilities will include:

• Effectively inform and educate patients, staff, and facility partners about music therapy
• Establish therapy objectives as part of the patient assessment
• Plan, review, and assess therapy sessions to monitor effectiveness and aid in planning subsequent sessions
• Take an active role in sessions by playing instruments, singing, and listening
• Encourage patients to participate in the session and support them by responding musically and improvising with music as a reaction to what the client is communicating to give comfort during the last stages of life
