Key Responsibilities:
- Provide consistent professional music therapy in accordance with company protocols and accepted certification practices
- Effectively inform and educate patients, staff, and facility partners about music therapy
- Establish therapy objectives as part of patient assessment
- Plan, review, and assess therapy sessions to monitor effectiveness and aid in planning subsequent sessions
- Take an active role in sessions by playing instruments, singing, and listening
- Encourage patients to participate in sessions and support them by responding musically and improvising with music as a reaction to client communication to give comfort during the last stages of life
- Support patient creative development and facilitate positive changes in behavior and well-being
We seek candidates with:
- Bachelor of Music Therapy degree
- Current Board-certified (MT-BC) credential according to U.S. Certification Board for Music Therapists
- State music therapy licensing where required
- At least six months of work/education experience with geriatric healthcare
- At least six months of work/education experience with end-of-life/terminal illness healthcare
